ECOFLOW

Hello everyone,

This week, I would like to share my experience with the battery system and heat pump from the company ECOFLOW.

It is important to mention that I am not sponsored by ECOFLOW to advertise. The accessories mentioned were purchased to meet my growing needs.

In 2023, we left Quebec for a six-month trip to the United States, covering 26,500 km across 27 states. You can follow our adventure in detail on my Facebook page, Supervan Life.

For this journey, we used a multi-functional trailer, in which my goal was to be self-sufficient in electricity. In case of need, I also wanted to be able to use the battery inside our van. So, I opted for the ECOFLOW battery system. I acquired the following equipment:

  • Delta Max 2000-watt battery
  • An additional battery offering another 2000 watts
  • Wave 2 system, which allows heating or cooling of our environment

This system is portable and can be used anywhere, whether outside, in a tent, or even in the house in case of a power outage. The accessories, although weighing about thirty pounds each, are designed to be easily moved. The batteries are rechargeable by electricity and via a solar panel. We installed a 400-watt solar panel on the roof of the trailer, making our energy source completely independent of our van.

When using the Wave 2 in our van, I purchased an Ecovent barrier from the company Sprinterfreak.ca. This barrier, sturdy and easy to install, fits into the front right door window. The two outlet holes are designed to accommodate the hot and cold air ducts. For the trailer, I made a panel to install on a window, allowing optimal use of the system.

I am very satisfied with this system and have met several ECOFLOW battery users who share this opinion. For example, a friend living in San Antonio, Texas, uses the same batteries to heat and keep his refrigerator running during frequent power outages in his apartment.

In conclusion, this investment has proven indispensable for our travels. My next purchase will be the battery to install under the Wave 2.

Be careful in your travels with your RVs.
